Muijul Hoque Azad (Born: January 7, 1990) is a Bangladeshi activist and author.[1] All of his three books became bestseller in Ekushey Book Fair.[2] His first book, Paradoxical Sajid[3] is widely celebrated in Bangladesh. It was sold more than hundred thousand times in 2017.[4] It's the Rokomari all time bestseller.[5] It has been translated into English and Assamese.[6] More than 8000 copies of his third book, Paradoxical Sajid - 2[7] was sold within a week of publication.[8] All copies of the first release was sold the very first day of publication.[9][10] Arif Azad led protests in 2016 against the banning of Peace TV in Bangladesh.[11]

Controversy[]
Arif Azad's first book, Paradoxical Sajid is criticized for plagiarism and mistakes in describing science. Though Saifur Rahman of Cambridge defends Arif Azad in this case.[14] His second book, Aroj Ali Somipe stirred up much debate among the Muslims of Bangladesh. His third one, Paradoxical Sajid - 2 was barred from being sold in the Ekushey Book Fair, saying it 'doesn't contain a holding number'.[15] Afterwards, A member of Somokalin Prokashon cleared out that the absence of holding number was by mistake and all of Somokalin's books were missing the number.[15]
