Dhakwan Abu Amr was a slave fathered by Umayya by his Jewish concubine from Lakhm in Saffuriyah. Umayya is said to have divorced his wife Arnab, and allowed Dhakwan to marry her instead.

He was a slave to Aisha, upon whose death he was manumitted by her wish.

Dhakwan was the father of Abu Mu'ayt and grandfather of ‘Uqbah, the father of Walid, ‘Uthman’s maternal brother.

He may have fathered Salim Ibn Dhakwan, whose treatise on prisoner treatment was later found intact.
